RESIDENT CONCERNS
(Over 300 calls were received at M&O)
Why don’t we plow the sunny side of the street? We can, however, new operators plowing at night do not know which side is sunny.
Why do we always plow to the other side of the street? Plows drive on the right hand side with the flow of traffic. Depending on which side of the street they begin, is the side that is plowed.
Why can’t we clear out my driveway if you’ve blocked it by plowing? We don’t have the time or resources to have a skid loader follow the plow to clear everyone’s driveway. The main objective is to clear the streets.
Why do we make only one pass in the residential areas when we get 6-8” of snow? Our policy is determined by time, equipment, and staffing level.
Why don’t we salt all the streets? Budget constraints dictate this. The cost of salt is $54/ton; Slicer is $78/ton.
